Barry is Lane’s former Company President. He has over 35 years’ experience in land planning and development consulting. Prior to joining Lane Engineering, Barry worked as the Deputy Director of Planning and Zoning for both Talbot and Queen Anne’s counties. Previous experience also includes planning and development consulting for private and public sector clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. In 1987 Barry served as a planning and development consultant to the Cayman Islands, BWI. Barry is a 1984 Salisbury State College graduate and has a Master of Science Degree in Planning from the University of Tennessee. Over the years Barry has served on numerous civic and development related commissions and advisory boards in Talbot and Queen Anne’s Counties.
Barry currently provides an advisory role to the firm’s completion of larger scale projects in Queen Anne’s County and works from Lane’s Centreville location.
Sean became Lane’s company President in 2023. Sean has over 30 years of experience in land use planning and project management. Sean concentrates on environmental permitting and zoning. Sean has significant background experience as an expert witness related to condemnation and civil case testimony regarding land use matters. His specialties are projects related to Chesapeake Bay critical areas, tidal and non-tidal wetlands, forestry, and mining. Sean is a Maryland qualified professional under the Forest Conservation Act and he is listed as a qualified contractor for wetland delineation services by the Maryland Department of the Environment.
Sean graduated from Salisbury State University with a degree in Geography and Regional Planning and has past work experience that includes public sector work as the Zoning Administrator for Talbot County. Sean is a resident of Oxford and enjoys competitive sailing.
Jeff has more than 40 years’ experience in the Engineering and Surveying industry. He is a Registered Property Line Surveyor in Maryland and has extensive knowledge in Boundary and Topographic Surveying, Subdivision & Condominium Plats, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), Laser Scanning & Point Clouds, Construction Stakeout, FEMA Elevation Certificates & LOMA’s. Tens of Thousands of acres on Maryland’s Eastern Shore are preserved due to Jeff’s work with various conservation groups and government agencies. Additionally, Jeff has managed Public and Private sector projects in West Virginia, Virginia, Washington D.C. and throughout the State of Maryland.
Currently, Jeff manages Lane’s Cambridge office and assists Matthew Lane with the management of the survey department. Jeff is involved in many local charities. He was also the past President of Cambridge’s Rotary Club as well as Dorchester Chamber of Commerce. Jeff is a resident of the City of Cambridge.
Tim joined Lane in 2005. He came to us from Easton Utilities where he was the manager of the engineering department. He also was employed by the Town of Easton in a dual role as Town Engineer. In addition to being Vice-President, Tim oversees the engineering staff at Lane where he supervises all elements of site engineering design, municipal and utility engineering, project management and construction management.
Tim graduated from the University of Maryland College Park with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and is licensed in both Maryland and Delaware. Tim currently serves as board chair of Talbot County’s Housing Commission. He is a two term past president of Talbot Optimist Club and is involved in various local organizations. Tim resides in Preston.
Matt has over two decades of experience in the land surveying and engineering industry. He is a licensed Professional Land Surveyor in both Maryland and Delaware with extensive knowledge of all facets of the trade including surveys for boundaries, topography, subdivisions, easements, bathymetry, ALTA/NSPS, construction stakeout, and elevation certificates. He is the director of operations for Lane’s survey department where he oversees all survey projects and manages its field crews.
Matt is a graduate of the Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT and received his B.A. in Economics from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA. Prior to Lane Engineering, Matt started his surveying career with Langan Engineering in Philadelphia and surveyed most of the big Northeast cities. Matt is a member of the Maryland Society of Surveyors and the National Society of Professional Surveyors. He is an avid fisherman and a member of the Chesapeake Bay Yacht Club of Easton and the Tred Avon Yacht Club of Oxford. Matt is a resident of Easton, Maryland.
Brett has almost two decades of experience behind him in land use planning and design, as well as construction management. He specializes in development and zoning regulation compliance in Talbot County and it’s Town municipalities. He manages a variety of commercial and residential projects where he works closely with clients and reviewers to secure appropriate approvals. Prior to joining Lane Engineering in 2017, Brett worked as a senior planner and project manager for Town and County governments in both Maryland and Delaware.
Brett is a native to Talbot County. He graduated from Easton High School and attended Salisbury University where he obtained his B.S. in Geography and Land Use Planning. He is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. Brett also volunteers and coaches several youth leagues sponsored through Talbot County Parks & Recreation.
